Where to donate

2023 is fast approaching.  Out with the old.  In with the new. It could mean many things for people. Old life? Old ideas? Old feelings. Old jobs? Old relationships? Old toys? Old furniture and clothes? Old xmas decorations? Whatever the old is to you,  the new year is coming, a fresh start.  Now what do you do with all those "old" things?
Americans throw away 25% more trash during the Thanksgiving to New Year's holiday period than any other time of year. The extra waste amounts to 25 million tons of garbage, or about 1 million extra tons per week!

Do you have your go to places to donate? We would love to hear where your favorite places to donate are. I'm going to list some of mine. 

Creative justice - 4Culture and a cohort of community partners developed Creative Justice as innovative arts-based approach to ending racial disproportionality and youth incarceration.

Thriftology - local, woman owned thrift store

Solid ground - Solid Ground works to end poverty and undo racism and other oppressions that are root causes of poverty.

Treehouse - envision–and strive to create–a world where every child who has experienced foster care has the opportunities and support they need to pursue their dreams and launch successfully into adulthood.

Mary's Place - Ensures that no child sleeps outside by centering equity and opportunity for women and families.

Lambert house - community center for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth in the greater Seattle Washington area.

Homeward pet - mission is to transform the lives of cats and dogs in need through compassionate medical care, positive behavior training, and successful adoption while building a more humane community. Believe that every cat and dog deserves a safe and loving home.
